Carolyn began practicing yoga at the tender age of 46 after discovering she had osteoporosis and stiffness of the joints. Within a year of consistent and regular practice, Carolyn became an excellent example of Bikram Choudhury’s quote “You’re never too old, never too bad, never too late and never too sick to start from scratch once again.” She aged backwards, becoming strong and flexible, and completed her 200-hour training with Philip Christodoulou at Anuttara Yoga Shala in 2014. She is sensitive to students of all levels, particularly those who want to advance their practice through proper alignment and breath control while working through a strong flow series. She believes yoga is nourishment for the mind, body and spirit, and proper alignment is key to activating its healing effects. She loves choreographing strong, graceful flows that empower and encourage students to practice breath control as they move with intention and grace, and discover the true meaning of meditation in motion. You come first to heal the body; the side effect is a healing of the mind; then if you are lucky, your spirit sings. That is yoga.
